Pandora's Succession

Where would you hide if you learned the CDC and a major pharmaceutical company unleashed a hyperdeadly microbe on the human race?

CIA operative, Ridley Fox, never stopped hunting his fiancée’s killers—a weapons consortium called The Arms of Ares. When an informant leads him to an old bunker outside of Groznyy, Chechnya, Fox is captured, beaten, and left for dead. When the informant rescues him, Fox learns that his capture was no coincidence: someone had set him up—possibly another government agent. Fox barely escapes after learning that Ares has acquired a hyperdeadly microbe—called Pandora—that is believed to have wiped out ancient civilizations. The trail leads Fox to Tokyo where he discovers that people within the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Japanese Intelligence want Pandora for themselves. The only person Fox can trust is a woman from his past who he nearly got killed.

Unsavory Delicacies.

A three-course story collection with a side-order of revenge.

For fans of Barry Eisler, Robert Ludlum, and Clive Cussler. Three short stories of suspense with unsavory results.

Crème Brulé—Rogue operative, Monique Beauvais, cons a software genius into selling her a coveted technology that would allow its user to control CIA drones while they’re in flight. And she will go as far as killing him in public in order to have it.

To the Last Bite—A renowned food critic—whose scathing reviews have closed down restaurants—gets a savoury surprise.

Shashlyk and Morezhenoe—CIA operative, Ridley Fox, leads a team against one of Russia’s most powerful crime families. He discovers secrets, but not one that he was expecting to find.

Three stories with three consequences. All containing three Unsavory Delicacies.

Joie Schmidt, author of "Dreams of the Heart", a compilation of poems about love, life, loss and inspiration, has been independently pursuing her writing dreams for the past four years. In October 2010, she was contacted by a publisher who discovered her online writing and offered to manage / publish / market / interview Schmidt on an on-going basis. In January 2011, three months later, "Dreams of the Heart" was published. (In memoriam of the 3/11 tragedy in Japan all proceeds from "Dreams of the Heart" books sales will go to the relief effort until 3/11/12)

In February 2011, she was interviewed for her book. The interview is featured on a site among approximately 20 other authors, several of whom are NY Times Bestsellers and / or award winning recipients. She is beyond honored and blessed to be in the company of such incredible talent. With such prestigious influences in her midst, Schmidt was inspired to publish "Dreams of the Heart vol. II" in August 2011. Upon, reading poetry at an open mic event organized by "Writer's Row" that took place in downtown L.A.'s "The Last Bookstore", and meeting prolific poets who had written 20+ books, she was further inspired to achieve such levels of realized productivity. Swiftly, she has begun writing a third compilation poetry book as well as the novel series of her dreams. Her north stars are authors of unparalleled success like JK Rowling and Agatha Christie. Some of the authors she holds dearest to her heart include Shakespeare, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Robert Frost.

Throughout the time that she has been pursuing her writing dreams, she has independently published over 800 poems and articles. Her online writing has been viewed close to 840K times, with approximately 3.6K fans, her poem "Wisdom & Youth" and an interview was been featured in two separate issues of "Christian Women's Magazine", her poem "Bricks & Passages" has been published by Edgar & Lenore's Publishing House, her biography, picture and "Dreams of the Heart" have been added to this same publishing house's "Calliope's Closet" collection, her radio interview was featured in "Aquillrelle Magazine", and her poem "Greater Good" will be featured in CWL xPress' new in-print magazine in August 2011. Additionally, Schmidt feels honored and blessed to be a performer/poetry reader at 2011 Poetrypalooza (a 10-day citywide poetry celebration in Los Angeles - held by the ZZyZx WriterZ a new emerging LA based writing group, that teams up with local artists, musicians, actors, educators, and more writers). She will be reading on two of the ten days and donating a copy of "Dreams of the Heart" at each event.

In September 2011, Schmidt has officially formed a partnership with "The New Writers" a non-profit organization created to help lift up and support the dreams of writers all over the world founded by Sarah Stuart and Steve Robison. Additionally, she is excited to be launching a t-shirt line with 2WJD a positive urban clothing line designed by Shiho Oribe that is expected to be completed in September 2011 with partial proceeds going to Save the Children, the charity Schmidt holds dearest to her heart.

As her success steadily grows and with such an incredible jump start to her writing/artistic dreams, Schmidt is wholeheartedly excited by what the future increasingly continues to hold for her. Her favorite quotes: "If you can dream it, you CAN do it!" (-Walt Disney) and "The only limits in life are those you place upon yourself" - in other words YOU have no limits.

48 POEMS

by Gregory L. Hudson is a highly stylized literary composition of electrifying poems.  There are 48 original poems encompassing eight different genres with each genre containing six poems totaling 48.  The genres include, romantic, dramatic, thanksgiving, tragic, comedic, ironic, Christmas and children.

Subtitled "Reflections Of A Poet" because it gives a rare and indent look into the heart, mind and soul of one of North Americas' "purest writers" of our time; who is bound only by the limits of his imagination and creativity.

Romantic: Every man should read the master piece, "Love Me With Your Heart" to his love one at least once.  Dramatic: "You Can't Break My Spirit" is the quintessential story of the black man's conquest over slavery.

Thanksgiving..."Thank You For Giving" will warm your heart as if it were a flaming charcoal on a cool summer night.  Tragic: Tragedy is as much a part of life as is living and "Untimely Death" will evoke tears and drown your eyes with compassion.

Comedic: no one can read "Ugly Like A Truck" and not chuckle as this woman describes her man as "ugly like a truck." Ironic: nothing expresses irony like "A Messiah Is Coming;" a tribute to President Barrack Obama, as well as, the poem "One Nation...Under Oprah" which elaborates on Oprah Winfrey's rise from the Mississippi Delta to the queen of talk show television and her all girl school in South Africa.

Christmas: There is no other poem that expresses "Christmas Time In New York City" like this poem.  The children genre: Seemingly every child has claimed to have had "A Fly In My Soup."

48 POEMS is a gold mine of love and language that is nothing short of a brilliant literary work that promotes literacy, academics, and advances scholarship into the next millennium.

COMING SOON .... release of Gregory's book entitled,
          "Why I Sued Eddie Murphy."

 .... pre-production of
the movie version of my stage play,

Featured Author Monte Smith

Monte Smith is an internationally acclaimed Street Poet, Rap Journalist, Community Based Educator, and Anti-Racist Activist.
Monte is the REAL! I've had the pleasure of interviewing Monte and I am Proud to call him my brother .If I had to summarize his style and his conviction for justice for one and all , it would be the Brother to Sister Souljah who lacks melanin.

Monte Smith is an internationally acclaimed Street Poet, Rap Journalist, Community Based Educator and Anti-Racist Activist from Winston Salem NC. He has been described as “a fire-brand… a true revolutionary, I mean raw!” by Bruce George, co-creator of HBO’S Def Poetry Jam. Elemental Magazine wrote “Poetry abounds in Hip Hop, but rarely does an individual’s work transcend the elements and conventions with a such a gripping emotional and political style.” More impressive is what UK’s Hip Hop/Jazz group US 3 had to say "If you drew a line from The Watts Prophets through Gill Scott Heron and Public Enemy to Dead Prez, uncompromising wordsmith Monte Smith would be the latest addition to the club. Listen up!" No wonder the Legendary Chuck D of Public Enemy picked Monte’s poem ‘The Deal is Done’ to record for the audio version of The Bandana Republic: A Literary Anthology by Gang Members and Their Affiliates. (Soft Skull Press)

Monte began his writing and activism career in the late 80’s and early 90’s working and writing anti-racist literature for revolutionary groups such as S.H.A.R.P and A.R.A. As the 90s continued, Monte created Third World Citizens, a Hip Hop collective that later spawned the careers of DJ’s Faust, (Bomb Records) DJ Klever, (DMC Champ) and DJ T-Roc (Bomb Records). Around the same time he started writing articles and conducting interviews for URB, SUBCULTURE, and HEADZ magazines. Over the years Monte has interviewed Maxine Waters, Black Moon, Old Dirty Bastard, DJ Qbert, KRS 1, The Beatnuts, Smif n Wessun, Crazy Legs, Black Thought, (The Roots), Poet 99, Aceyalone, and AZ to name a few.

He is the creator and producer of the Red Bull Word Clash, the largest Street Poetry Competition in the world. The incendiary documentary of the Word Clash won the audience award at the 2006 New York City Indy Film Festival, and garnered accolades from such diverse news outlets as Greensboro, North Carolina’s “Triad Style” weekly entertainment newspaper to the Greek daily Eleftherotypia, which devoted a full page to coverage of the Word Clash.

Monte has also been interviewed and had his poetry reviewed by NPR, Amnesty International, The Source, Blogtalk Radio, Insomniac, Rap Pages and Guerrilla Underground dot com. The famous revolutionary, poet and playwright Amiri Baraka, in conversation with Dr. William Turner, a freelance journalist for the Winston Salem Journal, exclaimed that Monte was the reincarnation of Allen Ginsburg after watching him perform only one poem.

He has performed and lectured at Wake Forest University, Duke University, Guilford College and Loyola Mary Mount University. He has recorded with DJ Vadim, (BBE Records) Breeze Evaflowin’, and MF Grimm. He was a featured poet on Def Poetry Jam dot com, chosen to speak as a stand in for Maya Angelou at the “Racial Equality Week” symposium at Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston Salem, NC... to finish reading go to www.streetpoetmontesmith.com

"I like Monte Smith's shit. If I didn't I wouldn't say it,

you know I don't embellish"

SAM GREENLEE - Author of The Spook Who Sat By The Door

“Monte brings you fire and ice; the burning of his heart is his passion; the coolness, is his reason and insight. His poetry is a welcome ingredient in the mix of Hip Hop.”

MUMIA ABU-JAMAL - Author, Journalist, Unjustly incarcerated political prisoner

“Smith blew everybody away, including AMIRI BARAKA, who was noticeably moved by Smith’s genuinely touching command of words and images that was so reminiscent of his friend ALLEN GINSBERG’S brand of being intentionally off the beaten path.”

DR. WILLIAM H. TURNER Freelance Writer - Excerpt from the Winston-Salem Journal

“In Coup-like Fashion, Monte’s writing is a Molotov Cocktail headed straight for the government. His words are on fire.”

BRUCE GEORGE Co producer of HBO’S “Def Poetry Jam’

“If you drew a line from The Watts Prophets through Gill Scott Heron and Public Enemy to Dead Prez, uncompromising wordsmith Monte Smith would be the latest addition to the club. Listen up!”
